I don’t know about your kids, but my daughter seems to love the Trolls and the movie isn’t even out yet! So, this weekend you know where we will be!
If Trolls is not your thing, another event taking place on Saturday at Barnes and Noble at 11:00 AM is Halloween Storytime. I’ve been to several of these story times and they’re fun for the kids. They usually read a story to the children and then share in some activity of either coloring or games.
This event will take place at most locations. My favorite is:
Country Glen Center
91 Old Country Road
Carle Place, NY 11514
Also on Saturday…
At Michaels Locations:
I may take her to Hicks Nursery in Westbury. Last week we ventured out to White Post Farms and I have to say I was so disappointed! Started with the $40 charge for the two of us to get in, but when I saw the smile on her face when she saw all their was to offer, it was so worth it. Until I realized how disappointed she ended up being when we were unable to engage in any of the activities they had going on, because every line was at least a two hour wait! The only thing we were able to do was attempt to feed the animals, but even that didn’t work out! The animals were so over stuffed from everyone else feeding them that they didn’t even come near us. That was her first disappointment. She then asked for a pony ride, and unless we had two hours to kill I had to say no lets move on. And that continued through the day. Long story short, we couldn’t even buy a pumpkin because of the overwhelming line. So, that is the last time I will go there. However, I may try Hicks Nursery located at 100 Jericho Turnpike, Westbury, NY 11590 which is a much smaller scale, but they have a small amount of animals to feed, a fun hayride and fun activities going on during the fall. They also have a variety of pumpkins to choose from and a beautiful walk through area of decorated rooms for the season.
Here is what they offer:
Come and see the all new animated story titled, “Otto’s Green Halloween”. Open daily 8am-6pm. Admission is free but we would greatly appreciate donations of non-perishable food items for Long Island Cares.
